Dominican rock/pop band Bocatabú was formed in June 2007 when composer and vocalist Giorgio Siladi met with drummer Miguel Abreu and pianist Oscar Patxot. Building a strong friendship and exchanging several of their music ideas, they sought to create a vision ignited with a variety of sounds and styles, but without the limits of a specific generic trend. The song’s captivating lyrics emotionalize the dreams, realities and fantasies that are conceptualized and live within the soul of lead singer Giorgio.
After arduous months of dedicated work and a solid set of songs, complemented by the individual experiences and talents of each of its members, the band evolved in their search for various styles. Each musical composition is filled with a fusion of both simplistic and complex textures, to express to the world its own version of life. The lyrics range from concrete to abstract themes. Bocatabú, in its essence, is an imaginary word that represents the loss of fear to externalize the language of truth and love. It is the omission of all the filters that society imposes to prevent a real and sincere expression of what we feel as human beings.
